Mission Statement
The Santa Rosa School District, a growing and diverse community of learners with strong values, promotes self-directed and productive learning through a comprehensive and innovative curriculum, visionary and collaborative leadership, and sound management.

District Profile
In 2001-2002, Santa Rosa School District includes more than 23,500 students from a county population of 122,000 and the district mobility rates is close to 23%. The system includes 15 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 6 high schools, a pre-kindergarten center, a technical center, an adult and a community school, and a variety of alternative programs.

During the 2000-2001 school year, our schools logged a total of 143,018 volunteer hours and established 220 business partnerships! Our pupil-teacher ratio is 18.24:1 Half of our schools earned A's on the Governor's A+ Assessment of Schools This District is committed to Instructional Technology, including distance learning And telecommunications, with a goal of providing student computer access at a ratio of 4:1 We offer before- and after-school child care.

In the 2000-2001 Florida State Assessment Program, Santa Rosa students ranked in the top five in the state in all measures of achievement, and our 7th, 8th, and 9th graders were first in the state in both reading and mathematics! Locklin Technical Center
Operated under the authority of the Santa Rosa District School Board, Locklin Technical Center is a specialized post-secondary institution designed primarily to provide job preparatory and continuing education. Designed to meet the technical training needs of adults and the actual and anticipated employment needs of businesses and industry.

Pensacola Junior College & University of Florida, Milton Campus
The Pensacola Junior College, Milton Campus, is conveniently located. University of Florida has a branch campus at the PJC Milton Campus.

University of West Florida
UWF offers majors in business, arts, science, professional studies, and education. Athletics, performing arts, and other activities supply entertainment for students, faculty and staff, alumni, and community members. WUWF Public Radio is also located on campus.
